Historically a garment and textile workers union, the New York New Jersey Regional Joint board has represented men and women in the clothing sector of our economy for decades. As other types of manufacturing have come to our region, we have branched out, and today we also represent members in industries such as plastics, food products and electronics.

New York New Jersey Joint Board Disaffiliates from UNITE HERE International Union

hyacinthThe elected rank and file executive board members of the New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board voted unanimously to disaffiliate from UNITE HERE, forming an independent union.

In doing so, New York and New Jersey Joint Board members joined 150,000 other union members across the country whose delegates and elected leaders also voted to disaffiliate from the international union.

Manufacturing Division Members Hold Ground with Great Contract Despite Bad Economy

January 21,  2009 - Ninety Five members of the New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board's Manufacturing Division have finalized a new contract with their employer, Book Covers Inc in Newark, NJ.

October 10, 2008: New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board members, together with members of the Teamsters, UFCW, AFSCME, the NJ Laborers, SEIU, the Carpenters, the Plumbers and RWDSU rallied today in support of Senator Barack Obama for President.
