Buying American helps pave a path to the middle class for manufacturing workers.

Workers United members make, sell, and ship products that drive our economy.  Manufacturing workers have long been the backbone of the American middle class and a pillar of the American economy.  Investing in manufacturing means investing in the middle class.  Buy American this holiday season and we'll all move ahead!

According to ABC News, "If every American spent $64 on something made in America, we could create 200,000 jobs right now.  That might sould like a lot to spend until we heard that the average American spends $700 on Christmas or holiday gifts.  So where will you spend your money this year?"

The New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board supports the Occupy Wall Street Movement!

On Wednesday October 5, Joint Board members marched with tens of thousands of other union members and New Yorkers from City Hall to Liberty Plaza in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street Movement.  We marched against corporate greed and economic injustice.  We marched for good jobs and dignity at work.  United together we can make a difference.  As Mary Kay Henry, President of SEIU, put it, “The importance of the Occupy Wall Street protests lies in the simple fact that all it takes is a small group of courageous people to light a spark and forever change the arc of history.”

Joint Board members and staff gather before the march.
