UNITE HERE Members Rally at NJ Labor for Obama Event

October 10, 2008: New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board members, together with members of the Teamsters, UFCW, AFSCME, the NJ Laborers, SEIU, the Carpenters, the Plumbers and RWDSU rallied today in support of Senator Barack Obama for President.

Dennis Brooks, a Local 96 member from the Hilton Newark Penn Station, addressed the crowd about his reasons for supporting the Obama-Biden ticket.

Brooks is pictured on the podium with UNITE HERE New Jersey State Political Director Patricia Campos, and in the crowd with fellow union member Forod Gillespie, who works at Hospi-tel Manufacturing Company.

Union members were joined at the rally by a variety of state and local elected officals, including Newark Mayor Cory Booker, U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg, and NJ Governor Jon Corzine.
